Defiant Ones is a casual competitive PS3 team. Casual because we're simply a group of friends that have been playing together since Socom. We're a bunch of smartasses that have fun bullshitting, drinking, criticizing each other and smacking noobs around. Competitive because we compete in clan wars, gamebattles, tournaments, ladders and leagues. We're not custom to losing, but we'll say good game when it happens.

We all enjoy a little friendly competition when playing PlayStation 3 games against our friends, but sometimes we want to take things a little bit further. For those players with a bit more competitive spirit to them, there are PS3 Tournaments offered by Virgin Gaming.

Using the innovative new system offered by Virgin Gaming, players can compete against their friends and even strangers remotely for cash prizes. Each player in a particular tournament contributes a buy-in that will be added to the prize pool. The winner of that tournament will be the lucky one that walks away with all of the other players’ buy-ins.

Players are rated individually by the system to ensure that they are evenly-matched against their competitors. This prevents players from cheating others online and ensures that all players in a tournament are sufficiently challenged by their competition.

It is certainly a great way for serious gamers to make some extra cash, while offering friends a way to make their existing tournament play that much more interesting. The service is free to register with and players do not need to spend a great deal of money on their buy-ins, making PS3 tournaments available to all kinds of players.

Joining is easy, basically you gotta know one to be one. Talk on our forums and get to know the team. Send out some friend invites then play a few rounds with the guys so we can see if you fit in. Those who do will be asked to join, those who don't will not. Keep in mind, leaders have the right to cut you at any time, for any reason they see necessary.
